December 2009 – The Countdown ...
Christmas is getting nearer by the day – Got all your presents yet?
Snooze through our categories – you might just find that special something.
The next countdown is well underway too – the 2010™ World Cup in South Africa.
You can’t have missed all the reports about how South Africans are looking forward to the games - they can hardly wait to celebrate in South African style – loud and colourful!
When they invade football stadiums they take along their Vuvus and wear on of the crazy helmets called Makarabas. Even if you missed out on getting hold of one of the tickets, you can still enjoy the excitement and show your passion by wearing your apparel. We have a number of unusual products for you to choose from.
Vuvu(zela)s can be found in the craziest designs- either as a kelp vuvu – sun dried on the beaches where it is washed ashore - meticulously painted it becomes a piece of art, or you might opt for a beaded version, lovingly and proudly made by the Zulu women.

We also have the Makarabas – the hardhats – for you. Not only in original South African styles; we have even had versions especially made for German supporters.
To top it all we have been able to secure a small number of a special Limited Edition (100 hardhats in total). These makarabas were made out of original worker’s helmets used during the construction of Cape Town’s Green Point Stadiums. The recycled versions still bear the original logo. Snooze
through our "Football" category to get the idea.

If you want to read more about the 2010 games then we can warmly recommend FIFA and South African Tourism.
Yebo – South Africa is ready!
All the best from your
African Hands Team
